Hold Onto God

 By Veronica Cowen

Change is the only constant. This is a statement we have all heard. We know it is true. And yet accepting change can be so challenging. For many, it is something deeply feared at an unconscious level. As soon as we get comfortable, the worry that big shift may be just around the corner can haunt us.

How then, do we navigate or feel safe when our footing is so unstable? When change is in our face? Especially in the tumultuous times we are living in. Where not just change is a constant, but accelerated and dramatic change. How then do we trust that we are safe, no matter what?

By knowing that we are held, healed and whole in God’s Presence. In God’s Light.

By leaning back into the remembrance that everything is God and we cannot not be under God’s protection, in God’s Ocean. Because everything we see, hear, feel, taste and smell is God.

 Thus,

When life feels unstable, connect with God.
When your balance is off, hold onto God.
When confusion arises, align with God.

When you forgot, let God remember you.
When you are tired, let God energize you.
When you are in pain, let God heal you.
When you feel ready to give up, ask God to reveal the truth for you.

There are so many opportunities each and every day to Recall God, and strengthen our connection with the Presence of God in and through us.

And there are so many invitations each and every day to lose it. It is our choice to remember. To hold God's hand no matter what.

Life is always evolving, expanding, shifting and changing. The more we can be open and welcoming of change the easier all things will be. When we resist change - when we resist the inevitable - we create blocks in our energy, in our space, and in our lives. Blocks that can lead to anger, ailment and dis-ease.

As we open our arms to transformation, while holding the intention what we need and what will most serve us will come, everything flows with greater ease.

Everyday I tell my five month old:

God lives In you,
As You
Through you
With You
And For you.

And today, I tell you the same:

God lives In you,
As You
Through you
With You
And For you.

Just as Psalm 121 reminds us that God is looking out for us constantly, never sleeping, never faltering. This knowing gets us through whatever change we may be facing, planned or by surprise.

We are held, healed and whole. Always, in all ways.

Amen.
