My Spiritual Team
By Rev. Mary Celine Miller, Community Emeritus
I, of course, have always prayed to Jesus, Mary, and some of the Angels and Saints, and still do, but some time ago I decided to build a team. I believe that the word team, in and of itself, designates more power and strength.
I then decided exactly who I wanted on this team: Father/Mother God, Jesus, Mother Mary, the Holy Spirit, Ron Roth, Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, Archangel Gabriel, and Archangel Uriel. Then came Padre Pio (he got the lounge chair), St. Hildegard, St. Therese of Lisieux, and St. Teresa of Avila. Also added Isabelle, as I've been told is my lead guide and other of my guides who wish to be included. The last is Richard, my guardian angel, who is now on my right side.
I actually listed these in the order that I seat them in my living room. I begin the circle on my left and visualize each one having his/her seat. I do stop after I mention the Holy Spirit and say the Holy Spirit prayer that we sang at Ron's events:
Come, Holy Spirit, I need you.
Come, Holy Spirit, I pray.
Come with your strength and your power.
Come in your own special way.
After my Guardian Angel comes, I say the following prayer:
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day, be at my side
To light, to guard, to rule, and guide.
Then we're ready to proceed. I thank the group for coming and ask them to assist in any way possible with my intent of this meditation, which is to connect with the Divine. Meditation is not easy for me, with a "monkey mind", and I need all the help I can get.
When the meditation is over, I thank the members and move on.
Note: The above mentioned are not the only Saints and Angels that I work with. There are many others that are known as specialists. A few of them are:
St. Lucy: Eye issues
St. Peregrine: Cancer
St. Anthony: Lost articles ("Tony, Tony, come around. Something's lost that must be found.")
Oh yes--St. Patrick helps out when I'm running late and provides me with all green lights.
I recall, too, reading Ron's book about praying with the energy of the saints. I actually had the book, but can't find it on my shelf. Wonder which one of my friends still has it?
Beautiful Article, today is Ron Roth's 13 anniversary of his passing June 1, 2009
