I Found You

by Acolyte Julian Romanov

Hello all. Although I have experienced many miracles in my life, which I’m happy to share with you sometime, I realized that after meditating on this blog post, something else began to grow on the canvas within my mind. I will be the first to admit that I didn’t always believe in a God, that I actually felt more like an atheist or agnostic. And as I’ve contemplated, I’ve realized that I was perhaps angry with God, and confused living without Him/Her. I have felt lost, and continue to feel so, when I am trying to live life without Him/Her. Creator, Great Spirit, The Divine, whatever we may call our Holy Power, I can’t deny that I’ve had a clear trajectory in my life to find my personal connection with God and live from there. So, here is a little poem that I wrote reflecting on this path and some things that I consider when I’m feeling a bit lost. I pray that these words may provide some healing to those who may be seeking it. With love, light, and gratitude – Julian

I found you at my first spiritual retreat at the hotel in Edison, New Jersey in November of 2015.

I found you in the meditation meeting in the attic above the catering business in Spokane.

I found you in the ICU room and walking along the creek near Marin General Hospital.

I found you in the smaller and quieter student chapel at Gonzaga University.

I found you when my life drastically changed from all the concepts I had.

I find you when I make mistakes and learn how I can grow.

I find you when I fall into really dark and uncomfortable spaces.

I find you when I let go of all my fears and trust in your plan for me.

I find you when I witness every single miracle that happens before my eyes.

I find you when I am of service and use my gifts to be truly helpful to others.

I find you when I deeply meditate and reach spaces I didn’t know existed before.

I find you in the family who has helped me and continues to help me along the way.

I find you when I practice yoga at the rock-climbing gym.

I find you when I go for short walks and pray around the park.

I find you when I connect with those who love and support me.

I find you when I smile and laugh with others at the grocery store.

I find you when I hike alone in the woods or along some mountaintop.

I find you sitting quietly at home watching the sun peer through the blinds.

I find you everywhere, in everything, in everyone when I simply look for you.

But the truth is, you’re the one that really found me.

And I am so blessed that you continue to find me.

Aho. Ashé. Amen.

Love You. Love, Me.

Love that we are One.
