Life Review: My Heart Is With You
by Bishop Robert Bearden
I am a Sunday’s Child, and recently celebrated a milestone birthday.
More meaningful than I could have imagined, really.
This occasion coincided with two powerful anniversaries of my parent’s deaths, and in my living a life beyond their mortal tenure. Seems strange, and wonderful, and important somehow, that someone from my immediate family finally beat the odds.
None of this was from my efforts. The list of accolades actually extends in countless ways to the many way showers, pioneers, and wisdom teachers; my list of Hero’s is extensive. Bottom line, my heart is deeply surrendered to their caring, sacrifice and service.
Life review seems to be the way of daily life of late.
Seeing what’s there in all opposing perspectives and seeing God smack dab in the middle of it all. And this does match what Sri Bhagavan teaches that “God is where all contradictions co-exist.”
And, just for the record, I might not have made it through these many dark nights, if my prayers were not somehow groomed along the way, to bring through powerful confession, reconciliation, receiving solutions beyond that of the mind, being allowed to see the mystery revealed, learning to celebrate every miracle, and finally, welcoming helplessness.
Simple songs and anything that lets the soul have some space helps too. Please enjoy these love songs from John Denver, and K.D. Lang, and know that my heart is in there too, with All of you.
